February Newsletter

Hey,

I am ready for this cold weather to be over and looking forward to mowing grass!

Had the first meeting on the 23rd of last month, along with the pitch-in. There were approximately 64 people there... everyone to busy getting "seconds" to be exact on the numbers, but there were a good many, and the food was exceptional.

When you get a chance, please welcome three new families as members, and they are;
Michelle Coffey, Philip Meek, and Charlie Zellars... Welcome Welcome.

There is a calendar of events for this coming year, and I would like to address two areas. The first of which is not on the calendar, is that Membership dues are due next month, and they are to be mailed to:

Double Y Saddle Club
P.O. Box 401,
Edinburgh, IN 46124

The next, is that lot give-a-way is April 17th at 9:00AM. If your dues have not been recieved or arrangements have not been made with the board, and you have a lot, this would be the time in which (I know how to use that word) you can lose your lot.

As always, lot give-a-way will be rain or shine. Also, this is the weekend for clean-up. The idea is to help clean-up the common ground or area, and lots of help is needed. Also, you can come down on the 18th of April to continue the clean-up. You will have plenty of time for your own lot, so let us start the year by helping the club.

It has been reported that someone with little regard of others, decided to use a vehicle and do "doughnuts/do-nuts" and put big ruts in the common area. This hampers mowing, promotes possible injury to children and animals, so be respectful of others and if you or your family/friends have to drive like this, please do so in your own yard or neighborhood. Your neighbors will love you, I am sure.

Another though, especially for the new members, is that anyone can walk ontoo the club grounds at anytime. If it is not tied down, it may float away during the flooding and if it isn't chained down, it may get STOLEN. This is something that older members know, but for the young or forgetful, be warned. Hate to think of all that has disappeared...especially my youth.

A little bit of bad news. Just days...days...after sending out the last newsletter, Nathan told me that he was being swamped with phone calls wanting the next newsletter. However, I don't think another newsletter will go out before the middle of March. Not much going on in Feb, and getting ready for Easter and April. Just trying to save money and keeping life interesting.

Remember...Please get the dues in (address above) and stay safe.

Suprised myself. Didn't think that I could get a full page of stuff!

Happy Trails to you................................ till we meet again!
